There are many benefits to being a self-employed contractor. Additionally, being a contractor for Waiver services offers further benefits.

Make Your Own Schedule

As an independent contractor, you are in control of creating your own schedule. Whether you’re interested in working 5 hours or 45 hours per week, you can create a schedule that best fits your needs. As a contractor, scheduling and meeting with clients is your responsibility. It’s important to be available for families, but a contractor has the ability to adjust sessions around vacations, illnesses, appointments, and childcare.

Accepting Potential Clients

New Beginnings receives referrals for potential clients and shares that information with independent contractors. As an independent contractor, you can decide if the client is within your driving limits, if their needs match your skill set, and if you have availability to take additional clients.

Part-Time vs. Full-Time

When you become self-employed, your potential earnings are ultimately determined by your own actions and initiatives. Whether you want to make a little extra money by serving one client a week or make this your full-time dream career, this job is right for you. As a contractor, there is no designated time you need to clock in or out. Any time you provide Waiver services for a client you will be making your hourly rate.

Choose Where You Work

Depending on the services you provide, you may be meeting families at their home, at an office, or in the community. While working on items that don’t require you to be with the client, you can work in the comfort of your home, at a local coffee shop, in the park, etc.

Paid Documentation Time

Indiana’s Waiver program provides payment for completing session notes and other items pertinent to your client’s services. Unlike other programs or services through other funding sources, there’s no need to enter documentation time outside of billable hours. Items and resources that are collected and created for your clients and their families are within the scope of Waiver hours.

Grow it.

New Beginnings offers a unique advantage for Waiver contractors. If you are an experienced Waiver Consultant, your pay and autonomy are maximized to align with the State’s payments for your therapy or service.

If you’re new to Waiver consulting and still learning the ropes, would like to be introduced to Waiver, or are seeking documented supervision hours toward BCBA or BCaBA certification with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), our ownership team works hand-and-hand with you as you become more independent. New Beginnings’ owners offer $5/hour raises each year until you meet the company max hourly rate for your therapy or service. (listed above)
